Booking policy

Last updated 22 October 2026.

Every booking on DyeDem happens in a chat between you and the artist. This is how it works, and what happens if plans change. An artist may add their own terms in the chat before you pay; those apply too.

How a booking works

  1. You send a request with your idea, the placement, size and reference photos.
  2. You and the artist talk it through in the chat.
  3. The artist sends a proposal: the sessions, the price and the deposit.
  4. You approve the proposal and pay the deposit. The booking is confirmed only once the deposit is paid.

Deposits

The artist sets the deposit, which holds your time and pays for the design work. It comes off the final price of your tattoo. The rest is paid to the artist as you agree in the chat.

Rescheduling

Session times can be moved by the artist; ask in the chat if you need a different time. Ask at least 72 hours before the session and your deposit carries over to the new date. An artist may ask for a new deposit after a second change.

Cancelling

  • If the artist cancels, you get your deposit back in full.
  • If you cancel at least 72 hours before your first session, you get your deposit back, less any design work the artist has already sent you.
  • If you cancel later than that, or don't come to your session, the deposit isn't refunded.

On the day

Arrive on time, rested, fed and sober, and bring a valid ID: artists won't tattoo anyone under 18. An artist can refuse or stop a session if it isn't safe to go on, and will agree a new date with you.

Problems

If something goes wrong with a booking, tell the artist in the chat first. If you can't sort it out together, email hello@dyedem.com with the booking details and we will help.
