Privacy policy

Last updated 22 October 2026.

DyeDem connects tattoo artists with the people who want their work. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow the Philippines' Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

What we collect

  • Your account: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • Your profile, if you are an artist: your studio, location, styles, bio and the photos of your work you upload.
  • Your activity: the artists you favourite, the pieces you save and like, and your comments.
  • Bookings and chats: your booking requests, the messages between you and an artist, reference photos you share, and the sessions, prices and deposits you agree on.
  • Payments: the amount, status and date of each deposit. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never reach DyeDem.
  • Basic technical data: the pages you visit and the device and browser you use, to keep the site working and secure.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and show your profile and work.
  • To pass your booking requests and messages to the artist you chose, and theirs back to you.
  • To send the emails the service needs: confirming your address, resetting your password and telling you when a booking changes.
  • To keep DyeDem safe, prevent abuse and meet our legal obligations.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising from other companies.

Your chats stay private

Messages, booking requests and the notes about them are encrypted when we store them. Only you and the artist in the chat can read them; DyeDem staff and our database see only scrambled text. Reference photos are visible only to the two of you. Emails about a booking never include what you wrote.

Who else sees it

Artists see what you send them through a booking. Your public profile, if you have one, is visible to everyone. We use a small number of service providers to run the site, for hosting, storage, email and payments, and they may only use your information to provide that service to us.

How long we keep it

We keep your account while it is open. Booking records are kept for as long as the law requires for transactions. When you close your account we delete or anonymise the rest within 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Email hello@dyedem.com and we will reply within 15 working days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
